It’s time to VOTE!

My latest project is in commemoration of the Leading Ladies who marched, paraded, stumped, protested, and fought for our freedoms to and secured the right to VOTE for all. August 18th, 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment to the Constitution of the United States, but it does not celebrate the freedom to vote for all. Many still experience voter suppression today. Many who have the unbridled freedom to vote simply don’t understand or appreciate the value of that right.

The goal of Leading Ladies: 100 Years of Marching is to provide a creative opportunity to learn more about Suffrage and the pathway to the polls! It is intended to generate interest in our past, but also stoke desire in the minds of our youth to be the next generation of LEADERS. Our youth must know that we believe in them, and that a path has been forged for them. Much like a relay, if we work as a team to hand off a baton to the next generation properly, we must run the race together. We cannot expect one person on a team to win the race. Let’s make sure we keep the ground prepared for a proper hand off.

Our voting rights & Civil Liberties were secured by many who came before us, including each of the above Leading Ladies who’s patterns can be found in the Shop on wildrootcreations.com or by clicking on their names.
